Controllerless Open SDN Fabrics for Telco Edge Compute

This talk will dive into edge networking solutions using OCP platforms from EdgeCore with Pluribus Linux NOS with a focus on how the hardware and software architecture is optimized for small space and power constrained environemnts one one hand and simultaneously scaled edge deployments by leveraging the power of OCP hardware to integrate controllerless fabrics and multi-tenant routing on the other hand.

Furthermore, the talk will discuss how a fabric approach can provide deep network slicing to support multi-tenancy via segmentation in all three planes as a fundamental component of the architecture. The three planes - control, data and management - can be sliced to offer full isolation to avoid noisy neighbor syndrome.

The talk will also discuss how multiple federated fabrics will scale for multi-site data center deployments that will be found in a distributed low latency edge computing environment to provide new levels of automation and to avoid the complexity of provisioning heavy weight protocols like EVPN.

The talk includes OCP ready EdgeCore HW with Pluribus Linux NOS called out under: https://www.edge-core.com/productsKind.php?cls=1
