The Recovery principle is a mechanism for restoring Platform Firmware code and critical data to a state of integrity in the event that any such firmware code or critical data are detected to have been corrupted, or when forced to recover through an authorized mechanism. Recovery process of the Platform Active Root-of-Trust (PA-RoT) is a critical process for the overall security of the platform since the PA-RoT will in many cases function as a Root-of-Trust for recovery (RTRec) for symbiotic devices. Guiding principles for this are based on NIST SP 800-193 and the three pillars supporting Platform Resiliency: Protection, Detection, Recovery.
