OCP NIC 3.0 introduces standard support for multi socket servers. When a multi-socket server with multiple PCIe connections operates a NIC it requires some special management features. This talk discusses the implications of operation in Socket-Direct mode on Inventory management from the BMC as well as the IT-related pre-boot environment configuration considerations.
