In this talk we will go over OpenBMC NIC management features on OCP Yosemite V3 platform. In this platform there's a single multi-host NIC connecting to a single BMC and 4 servers. NIC management for OpenBMC is done through a user space monitoring daemon and a command line tool to communicates with NIC over NC-SI. One of its main responsibility is to monitor NIC link status and performs automated recovery and remediation as needed. Additionally, it monitors NIC events through subscribing to various NC-SI AENs (standard and OEM) and triggers external logging and remediation as necessary. I will also give a an overview of command line tool in OpenBMC to aid NIC debugging.
