Since 1988, the UNH InterOperability Laboratory has enabled multi-vendor interoperability, conformance testing and developed custom testing solutions while preparing students for careers within the computer and engineering industries. Over the years we have grown steadily into one of the premier independent labs for new technologies, allowing us to become a thought leader within the data and networking world. We have recently been working hard to bring full testing capabilities for the OCP NIC 3.0 to our lab in preparation for the OCP NIC 3.0 certification program coming out early next year. This technology and certification program will be essential to improving hyperscale data centers and HPC deployment in the near future. NIC 3.0’s capabilities and footprint will help to streamline large scale operations while allowing them to stay cool, making them a key part of future deployments. An essential part of the compliance program is ensuring PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 TX / RX conformance for the NICs. We have created multiple testing suites around the new NIC 3.0 hardware needed to complete this testing in an easy and efficient manner. This includes a detailed look into the differences in S-Parameters between a traditional PCIe CBB and CLB and our NIC 3.0 CBB and CLB. We will also go into how this testing capability can be integrated into vendor’s design process to help eliminate PCIe TX / RX communication errors earlier in development.
