Growth in server capacity demand is triggering a high rate of new data center building turnup and network retrofits worldwide. Scaling out worldwide data center network build/retrofits requires a software defined approach to the whole planning, procurement, design, build execution process. Welcome to the world of “Self-Building” data center networks. In this talk we share our recent work in building a fully automated demand to bits pipeline to realize “self-building” data center networks. We will cover the key aspects of network build process automation from demand signal processing, topology and config staging, BOM generation as well as actual build/migration workflow automation.
