The tenents of the OCP (Efficiency, Scale, Openness, & Impact) are in great alignment with the base principals of a modular approach to data center construction. However, what defines a modular data center (MDC) is still up to debate. In this session, the community will be invited to share with their experience of MDCs, their expectations of MDCs, and the problems they believe a modular data center could solve.
Participants will share and help shape the direction of the MDC subgroup's direction for future contributions based on real life needs and possibilities. Our focus will be to maintain the efforts of making the data center more efficient, flexible, and scalable. We will work together to break down proprietary IT infrastructure to achieve greater choice, customization, and cost savings.
